Description

Succession planning is a priority for many organizations, and not just for senior leadership positions. The pending retirement of millions of Baby Boomers combined with changing work conditions related to organizational restructuring has created talent and knowledge gaps for many organizations. While investing in employee development is one way to overcome this challenge, research suggests that nearly half of people leaders lack sufficient skills to participate in this process. People leaders participating in this workshop will learn how activities including ‘stretch assignments’, mentoring, or cross training can be used to develop the skills of their employees and lead to improved organizational performance. Role play activities and discussion will be used to help participants practice and implement an employee development plan.

Structure

LifeWorks Learning workshops go beyond awareness, and allow participants to practice and engage with the topic. Facilitated in small groups, participants can expect learning activities like small-group discussion, breakout rooms, role-play, scenario-based learning – as well as more standard elements like Q&A, polling and chat functionality.
